5K COURSE DETAILS
The course for the Mission Viejo Turkey Chase starts and finishes on the Village Green at the Norman P. Murray Center. After passing through the starting line, you will loop around the village green and then head out on the Oso Trail towards Arbolitos. You will turn left on Arbolitos and will then take another immediate left to head back on the grass on the other side of the creek. You will cross the first bridge of the day and head south towards La Paz on the East side of the Creek. Soon you will reach the Mile 1 Marker.
As you continue on the east side of the creek, you will approach La Paz Road through the World Cup Center parking lot. You will circle back to the West side of the Oso Trail (after spending a few hundred feet on the sidewalk on La Paz) and head north. After a right turn to cross over the second bridge on the course, you will make a quick left and finish mile 2.
Now back on the East side of the Creek, you will continue north on the Oso Trail and enter the Village Green from the north end for the final half mile. Passing back through the starting line, you will be greeted with the cheers of the spectators. Finally, you will make one last loop around the Village Green and head for the finish.
Mostly asphalt with some portions of cement and a section of grass.
The course has little change in elevation.
From La Paz, turn onto Veterans Way. Follow the road for about0.25 miles into the Norman P. Murray parking lot. Park in the narrow parking lot alongside the Village Green. Additional parking (if lot becomes full) can be found to the left of the Murray Center as well as along the curb on Veterans Way. There is no charge for parking.
