President – Jane Maxson
Jane Maxson was born in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States in 1992. Jane and her family relocated to Mission Viejo from the Seattle area in 2005 and her two children are students at Capistrano Valley High School. Jane has been actively involved in volunteering in CUSD schools for the past nine years. She has held several positions on the Executive PTA boards of Castille Elementary and Newhart Middle school and has served as PTA president at both schools. Jane received a B.A. in French and German Language and Literature from Oxford Brookes University in the UK. Previously she worked in the travel industry in human resources for Carlson Group and in government and industry affairs for British Airways.
Treasurer- Carolyn Hwang
Carolyn has lived in Mission Viejo since 2000. Two of her children graduated from Capo Valley High School and her third child will be a freshman at Capo Valley in the fall of 2012. She has served on the executive boards of Reilly Foundation, Reilly PTA, Newhart PTA, Capo Valley PTSA, and CVHS Foundation in various capacities, including Executive Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. In addition Carolyn was a founding member of the Executive Board of the CVHS Girls Volleyball Boosters, Inc. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Western New England University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and formerly worked as a CPA as well as Director of Group Pensions for a large financial services company.
Secretary – Hallie Hannah
Hallie Hannah has been a Mission Viejo resident since 1996. She has three children and has always been actively involved in volunteering at school from Castille Elementary, to Newhart Middle School and now Capistrabo Valley High School. Hallie has held numerous PTA positions, is the Secretary of the CVHS Foundation, President of the Football Booster Association and active in her church as well. Hallie and her husband Mitch are attorneys in the local area, with a practice emphasis in general business litigation.
MEMBERS AT LARGE
Susan Carroll, a Mission Viejo resident since 1999, has three children at CVHS. She has been actively involved in volunteering at school from Reilly Elementary, Newhart Middle School, and Capistrano Valley High School. Susan was the PTA president at Reilly Elementary and Newhart Middle School, and is currently a PTA chairperson at CVHS and Capo Cross Country Booster president with her husband, Scott . In addition to her involvement at school, Susan is actively involved with children’s ministries at her church. Susan graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Politics and Government. She is currently employed as an assistant underwriter for U.S. Risk Insurance Group.
John Giacchino is a Real Estate Broker working specifically in property management. John is a graduate of Rutgers University and has an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. Previous work includes time with McDonnell Douglas in financial planning, Director of Operations with Worldwide Roller Hockey Facilities, and other sales and marketing positions. John is married to Corinne Giacchino who is an elementary school teacher in the Capistrano Valley School District and he has two children who attend Capistrano Valley High School.
Susan Long Crockett is an intellectual property attorney and principal in the firm of Crockett & Crockett. Working with high technology clients, Susan prosecutes patent applications in diverse areas of technology, and counsels on trademark and infringement issues. She has broad experience in international patent and trademark law. Before becoming an attorney, Susan was as a lead engineer on the Atlas Centaur Rocket program at General Dynamics. Susan has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, an MS in High Technology Management from National University, and a JD from Southwestern University School of Law. Susan has lived in Mission Viejo since 1998 and has been actively involved at her children’s schools, Castille Elementary, Newhart Middle School and CVHS.
Perry Hamilton serves as Pastor of junior high students and families as well as directing the local outreach ministries of Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo. Perry and his wife, Judy (the University Registrar for Vanguard University of Southern California) have lived in South County for the past 26 years and have two adult children.
Kristen Cerfogli – PTSA president
Kristen was raised in Mission Viejo. She and her husband have raised their 2 children in the Capistrano Unified School District. Her oldest son is enjoying his first year at Azusa Pacific University, and her youngest is a junior at Capo Valley HS. Kristen has held various PTA positions since her children were in elementary school. She has been involved in the CVHS aquatics program, co-chaired the CVHS Teacher Grants, and is currently the PTSA President.
She has served her church in various areas including Children’s and Women’s Ministries, and at present serves on the Youth Ministries Committee. Kristen graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Liberal Studies degree.
Montse Gray was born in Spain and grew up in Venezuela. She graduated from the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas with a Bachelor Degree in Electronic Engineering, and has an MBA from the University Metropolitana. She worked in oil Industry and in Honeywell – Venezuela, for several years before moving to the USA in 1993. Montse has been an active volunteer parent in all her children’s schools: Crown Valley Elementary, Western Academy of Beijing, Aliso Viejo MS and CAPO. She has served in different leadership roles from Coordinating Book Fairs and Meet the Master Programs to PTSA President and Vice President. Montse has lived in different countries, and loves to learn about other cultures and other languages. She lived in Spain and Venezuela, during her youth and then in the USA and Beijing, China for a few years. Currently she is working as a Bilingual Community Service Liaison at Aliso Niguel HS, where her skills to navigate different cultures and help parents with English Learner Students are much needed. She is been always and advocate for good quality public education, that can give equal opportunities to all children.
